It’s handy. It’s personal. And it’s all yours. Your DM Notebook. There’s a whole crap load of stuff available and what you choose to put in your notebook all depends and your style of gaming. What you like, what you want and so on. There is no wrong answer in this case.So here’s what I’ve put together.
Yes, it’s nice and handy. I’ve got my little hands on one those nifty notebooks that can stand up. Here’s what’s inside:
Obviously, select charts from Vornheim.
Select Charts from Green Devil Face No. 5.
Also select charts from the d30 Companion. I don’t have the d30 Sandbox Companion yet but I’ve heard good things about it.
The Drunken Debauchery Table and the Random Sword & Sorcery Adventure Generator from Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea.
My own Teleportation Mishap Chart.
And my handy little “What the Hell is that?” Drop Chart
Also crammed in the notebook are these gems.
Troll Lord Games Engineering Dungeons.
The ancient d30 Book of Charts by the Armoury and Chaosium’s old Cities book. (So far I haven’t found a place where you legally can get the PDF’s. So if you can find these in the good old used book store. Grab them up.)
And finally my own YARC! hacked rules. But more on that in the next couple of days. Yes, I know I didn’t specify exactly which charts I’m using. Use the tools you like and need. Use the charts that you think are cool and will add neat stuff to your game.
You can get a PDF of the Midkemia Press version of the Cities book for $5 from their website (http://midkemia.com). You can also get free copies of ‘The Black Tower’ and ‘Towns of the Outlands’.
