Yes, it’s a little fanboy moment. I have to admit that I didn’t learn of the works of Clark Ashton Smith until later in life. In way that’s a good thing because I don’t that I would have appreciated them as much as I do now.

Smith is in many ways a forgotten master. He doesn’t gain no where near the attention of Robert E Howard or HP Lovecraft and he really should. His tales are dark, weird, and fantastic. Every time I read one I learn new word. Man, this guy had a huge vocabulary.
