Yes, I’m cheap. I’ll cut some corners whenever I can for just about anything. So for those who follow along at the MeWe Handmade Dungeons & El Cheapo RPG Stuff this first picture will look familiar.
I picked up this simple gate at the local Dollartree. It sat around a while and I decided that even I could do a better paint job. Plus since the above picture, I made some new and improved XPS dungeon tiles. So after the repaint, we get this.
Yes, I know. This pic has better lighting too. But the process was very simple. I did a black undercoat then light gray. I followed with painting various stones other colors then dry brushed some tan and light gray. Detailed the grating with gold then applied a black wash. I may still do a coat of polyurethane to help protect the simple paint job.
And there you go. Cheapo terrain. Remember, gaming doesn’t have to be expensive.
