Advantage/Disadvantage Tokens

So I picked up these wooden disks up at the local Lowe’s for about $2 for a dozen of them. I had some plans. Probably use them as bases for some miniatures. And that’s plan in the future. I got a few that need some stability. Thanks, Reaper. But then I got thinking this morning.
While playing 5E D&D, there’s a lot of circumstances grant Advantage or Disadvantage. And sometimes, the DM or the player forget that they have either Advantage or Disadvantage. I did something similar while playing Savage Worlds with Shaken tokens. (BTW, I use these from Litko.) But hey. Why not something just for 5E? So grabbed a red and a green Sharpie and there you go. Of course you could paint them or do something fancier but this was one of those ideas that just popped in my head. Also you could grab up some multicolored glass beads and do that too.

A Return to Yarc

I was chatting on Google+ last week with Eric of the totally awesome blob Swords & Stitchery about OSR stuff and home brewing and clones and all the usual stuff. Of course, every time I open my mouth that get’s me thinking. This time my thoughts returned to Yarc.

Back in the day, Yarc was my idea to house rule and kit bash stuff into my own Frankengame and basically it still is. It’s just that I haven’t done anything with it for a long time and so much has changed in mundane life that I should really go back and resurrect it.
So here’s the deal. Yarc is my weird gonzo fun but still kind of generic fantasy world. Oh, you’ll still see stuff pop here and you’ll probably see it here first. After a bit, the best bits are going to get put together, polished up and put on on RPGNow as PWYW. I’d kind of like to think of it as a Patreon in reverse. The stuff is already out and available but here’s a little way to support some guy who thinks he’s creative. So this means you should be seeing a whole more fun stuff here. And that was my whole plan all along for the blog. Fun OSR Stuff.
Let me say this again, really. Go check out Eric’s blog. There’s some really neat quick little random charts. And I’m not singing praises just because he’s reviewed some of my stuff. I really like the blog. So if you’ll excuse me. It’s time write some wild and crazy stuff. Wish me luck.

Another Alien Race Up and More to Come

Well, I got another alien race for White Star up on RPGNow, The Norni and there’s more to come.
I’m working on what I hope to be some fun stuff for White Star. A couple adventures are bouncing around inside my head as well as a mini campaign setting. First, there’s going to be my own little optional rules supplement. So stay tuned for that.
And there’s plenty of other RPG stuff in the old brain pan. I don’t want to say too much yet because every time that I do that something crazy happens. So I’m going to play it close the chest until the drafts are almost done. But in the mean time, you can still following and maybe you might see a hint now and then about those upcoming mysteries.

RPG’s are still cool Part II

It’s for another post about gaming in general. I did a post over a year ago on my other blog just think back about what was going on then with 5E and whose opinion WOTC asked for and you’ll understand. Anyway I don’t want to harp about anything negative. I don’t have the need, urge, nor time to screw with anything like that. I have much more important and enjoyable things to do.
The things I said in the old post still hold true. I’ve met some wonderful people around the world thanks to gaming. I’ve some of the most entertaining and fun times of life while rolling dice and killing monsters. It wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows. Yes, there were conflicts of personalities and opinions of the rules. That stuff happens. Get over it. It happens too often in real life to let elf game drama bring down a hobby that is supposed to fun.
That’s what’s about for me. Fun. Laughs. They’re games. Enjoy them. Heck, enjoy them in your own way. And that’s what I do and that’s what encourage everyone to do. Let me sum it up with a picture.

Roll Dice. Kill Monsters. Take Their Stuff. And Have Fun!
